The Horn of Plenty is a gorgeous Georgian Country House near Tavistock, Devon. It sits on beautiful grounds with a view of the Tamar Valley, and is the venue for many stunning weddings.
The Horn of Plenty is on my venue recommendations list. See what else is on the list here!
Please see below for some photos from weddings I’ve photographed here.

An amazing Manor House with large windows and a beautiful view. An elegant staircase, gorgeous gardens, and my favourite rooms – the drawing room and the little library!

Often happening in Room 3, bridal prep is super special here. From the window, you have a view of the drive and the area outside the front of the house – which means you can see your guests arriving! A newly-renovated room (I have seen it but not photographed in it yet!) which also has a lovely little balcony area.

A lovely backlit ceremony area. I tend to be at the front for the arrival of the bride, then photograph the rest of the ceremony from the back of the aisle due to space. I love how naturally-lit this room is, though!
There is also an outdoor ceremony option – sadly I haven’t yet photographed one yet – thanks, rain! Check back here later this year and hopefully it’ll have some GORGEOUS new ceremony photos with the valley in the background.

Just after your ceremony, after you come up the aisle as newlyweds, you’ll be ushered into the lovely drawing room. Meanwhile, your guests will be brought outside for confetti, ready for you to come out and get covered in it! The house makes a lovely backdrop to these photos.
Then, drinks and canapés are often enjoyed in this area, and I also love doing group photos here, at the top of the steps to the garden, as you have the beautiful view but it’s also accessible for everyone.

Eugh what GORGEOUS grounds this hotel has!!! Honestly, in the late afternoon, the light coming across the valley is phenomenal. It has a magical quality to it! Lawn games are always a favourite too. Some of my favourite areas are the lovely wooded area and the walled garden. Big fan!

This is a lovely long room for your reception, and it can spill out into the bar area also if you have a larger amount of guests. Smaller weddings sometimes have just the first room (ceremony area) for their reception which feels really intimate. I love seeing the different set ups here! (Plus, the food here is 10/10!)

All in all, the Horn of Plenty is one of my favourite local venues. Shirna and the team are so helpful and informative, and you instantly feel welcomed upon arrival. I always look forward to returning here (and hope to soon be able to photograph an outdoor ceremony!)
